Scootie gets a thousand

"Scootie" reached 1000 miles last week! That seems like a helluva lot of miles for something that only goes about 3 blocks to work, 8 blocks to my mom's and across the street to the grocery store.

When my husband got a motorcycle 6 years ago, I told him that I was going to get a bullet bike. We went to Vescos and left with Scootie. Not exactly the bike I had anticipated, but I've been very happy with her.

Thankfully, I haven't had any traffic incidences involving Scootie.
Always remember to watch out for 2-wheeled vehicles sharing the road with you.
Sometimes It's pretty hard to flip you guys off and drive at the same time ;)

The Big City

I went to Salt Lake Saturday night to hang out with James & Guy. We went to Park City to do some bargain shopping at the Outlet (Gap tank tops for $3.99...SCORE) and then went to Squatters for dinner. I love Squatters. They have a really broad menu that you just don't find in little BC. Not to mention their brewery. And the atmosphere.
I had the Ahi Tacos, which were pretty good, and the old favorite, Hefeweizen.

When we left we stopped to look at their "art" outside, which was a giant ball of empty plastic water bottles they'd put a light inside. Pretty cool.

Sunday morning we were going to go to a Belgian waffle house, but it was closed, so we decided to go to Squatters in SL this time! I don't make it down to the big city nearly enough, and it's one of my favorite places, so hey, why not?
Besides, where else can you get a "Mid-day Mary"?

It was a great weekend with the "brothers", and it really needs to happen more often!

Sweater Update - 3 Weeks

Here is the back of my sweater at 19 inches, only 5 more to go!

The joy I feel while knitting this beast has been comparable to sticking
my needles in my ears and twisting...

And I think the back is probably the easiest part.

An excerpt from a Wednesday night

Here is a list of things I either learned or heard last night.

• "Succubus" is a great word

"I broke up with her."

"Why?"

"She wasn't even cute. And she smelled like fresh rotten milk"

"Uh.... 'fresh' rotten milk?"

"Yeah, you know... when you smell fresh milk... it actually smells pretty rotten"

"So did she work at a dairy barn?"

"No. She worked at Prairie Schooner"

• Aaron would rather eat crackers that I've sat on, than move 2 feet to get fresh ones from the box.

• "What is Hummus?"

"Chickpeas and garlic and stuff"

"Hippie food, just eat it"

• Bert is an ordained minister, by the power of the world wide web.

He even got a collared shirt for an extra $12.99.

"Erin! Erin. Seriously. I saw this on House. Like, a centipede or something... it crawled in this dude's ear and ate his brain or something. I saw this."

"Ok, but it wasn't a moth?"

"......No, but I've heard they do that shit too"

(as she's hiding under a blanket with her eyes showing and her fingers up her nose for fear the moth will eat her brains....)

• Jill lets me tease her and promises not to cry about it

• "I've been thinking about getting a concealed weapons permit."

"Why?"

"Because maybe I'd like to own a gun one day"

"You don't have to get a concealed weapons permit to own a gun..."

"Oh. Well what do you need one for then?"

"So you can tuck your gun in your panties and carry it in Wal-Mart"

• My friends are retarded. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops!... I mean... Wheat Thins....

I admit that it's nothing to write home about... or I guess blog about.... but I've lost 3 lbs!
I've been going to the gym with Manny fairly religiously. Well, about as religious about anything as I get.
He's warned me not to weigh myself for a month or so because he knows how easily I get discouraged, but I gave in and did today, and I really am glad.

Now that I've got my gym routine fairly stable, I just need to work better on my other problem.

I love food... like.... uh.. like a fat kid loves food. :)
